The excellence of craftsmanship in the spotlight at Heiva rima'i
This year Heiva Rima’ī is celebrating its 32nd edition a moment that all craftsmen look forward to after more than a year of deprivation. As the showcase of creation in arts and crafts in French Polynesia, this exhibition highlights the excellence of our craftsmen and craftswomen and the finesse of their works
Nearly one hundred craftsmen and craftswomen from the 5 Polynesian archipelagos will gather this year to show the extent of their know-how: wood carving, stone carving, bone carving, jewellery, tifaifai (patchwork), plating and braiding, basket-making, sewing, etc. Demonstrations and workshops will be offered to the public about different traditional arts and crafts such as tifaifai, basket-making or the making of jewels with shells.
