Heiva Village – Come and meet Polynesian Arts and Crafts
For five years now, Maison de la Culture has organised a Village of Arts and Crafts as part of the Heiva Festival. In partnership with CCISM (Chamber of Commerce), this Village now accommodates the world of art jewelry. Mrs. Fauura Bouteau, a lady famous for the originality of her creations, is introducing skilful jewelers, sculptors and artisans. All are eager to show their talent. Located on the lower plaza, this exhibition is an opportunity for the public to see the wide range of skills of our artisans.
This year the artisans welcome you in an openair village. The theme for this year is Fenua ‘Aihere (wild nature). Undoubtedly, jewels, colourful tifaifai (patchwork items), clothes and artisanal objects will appeal to visitors.
A “Vote for your favourite stand” game will be proposed to the public. Prizes include tickets for Heiva competition shows, a “soir.e merveilleuse” dinner for 2, courtesy of Intercontinental Tahiti and a helicopter flight over Tahiti, courtesy of Tahiti Nui Helicoptere.
Finally, the Heiva Boutique is open each evening for souvenirs like t-shirts and tops, bags and other branded products.
